My yoga journey began with a video of a woman looking very peaceful on top of a mountain in my friend's mom's basement MANY years ago. That video isn't what hooked me to the practice, but it definitely piqued my interest enough to keep going. When living in Chicago I discovered Bikram Yoga, and that is when I was truly hooked. The heat, the intensity, and the feeling after class kept me coming back. I discovered Sumits Yoga in 2009 after moving back to Springfield, and my life was instantly changed. I was given the opportunity to train with Sumit Banerjee, creator of Sumits Yoga, in Scottsdale Arizona in the summer of 2009, and I've been dedicated to the practice ever since. Yoga is the one form of movement that I've never gotten tired of.
For me, the most amazing thing about yoga is that it meets you where you are ... no matter what you have going on in your life, no matter what is happening off the mat, the practice finds you there. I'm eternally grateful to Sumit for teaching me what yoga really is.
In addition to Sumit, I've had many incredible teachers along the way including Patrick Beach, Baron Baptiste, Alexandria Crow, Dylan Werner, and McKenzie Miller. I'm also lucky to learn and continue growing with the truly gifted teachers at Sumits Yoga.
My goal has always been to provide a safe, welcoming, and fun space to anyone who steps through our studio doors. I hope YOU will come join us!
